Ahead of your appointment, we would like to communicate updated COVID-19 procedures for 2021:
  • Please be prompt for your appointment.  With our efforts to maximize social distancing and our commitment to the highest standards of infection control, we may not be able to accommodate you if you are late.
  • We have reopened our reception room at limited capacity, with socially distant seating.  Patients have the option of entering through the MAIN entrance upon arrival for a scheduled appointment.
  • Patients that prefer NOT to wait in the reception room can call the front desk upon arrival and wait outside or in a vehicle until the treatment room is ready.
  • One escort will be allowed for elderly or minor patients if needed.
  • We ask that all persons entering the office wear a mask.  Please DO NOT wear gloves, as you will be required to sanitize hands upon entry.
  • Temperature screenings will continue to be mandatory for all patients prior to removal of their mask for treatment.
  • If your temperature is 100.4 F or higher or you are exhibiting flu-like symptoms, you will be asked to reschedule your appointment for at least 14 days in the future.
  • All forms will continue to be digital going forward.   Please fill out an updated Medical History (MEN and WOMEN) and an ADA Covid-19 Screening Form prior to your visit.
  • Please be aware that with increased PPE the temperature in the office will be cooler than normal.
  • Our front desk is open to make appointments or take payments after a visit. Patients are also able to call for these services if preferred.
  • Doctors will continue to perform hygiene checks when they have time between procedures. This may be at the beginning, middle, or end of a cleaning appointment.
  • Safety measures for your protection and the protection of our staff will remain in place. These include (but are not limited to) HEPA UV-C air filtration units in each operatory and the reception room, extraoral suction machines to reduce aerosolized particles, and pre-procedural rinse with antiseptic mouthwash.
  • Clinical staff will continue to maintain the level of personal protective equipment (PPE) that we have come to accept as the new normal.

Covid-19 Updates

While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your health and safety. Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice, as we hope you have seen during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes ensure that when you receive care, it is both safe and comfortable for patient and staff alike.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up to date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued, and to make certain that our infection control procedures adhere to each agency’s most current recommendations.

Based on these recommendations, we have made some changes to office protocols to maximize the protection of our patients and staff. You will see some of changes when it is time for your next appointment.

For example:

  • Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions.  You will be asked to reschedule your appointment if you answer yes to any of the COVID-19 screening questions.  Please answer honestly for the safety of our staff and other patients.
  • All forms, including patient intake forms and medical history updates, will be digital whenever possible.  You may be emailed some paperwork to fill out electronically and securely return to our office prior to your appointment.
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. This may mean that you are offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.  We will do our best to accommodate you in a timely fashion.
  • We will not have a patient waiting room for the foreseeable future.  We have transitioned to a virtual waiting room.  All interactions will be by phone or email.
  • Prior to beginning treatment, you will be instructed to rinse with a peroxide mouth rinse.
  • To minimize procedures that result in aerosolizing saliva, we may selectively use or eliminate the use of the Cavitron (water scaler) or tooth polishing paste.

Once we are permitted to resume cleaning appointments, we will make every effort to have a doctor solely available to check hygiene patients.  If all doctors are actively involved in treating another patient and you are having no issues or concerns, it is possible that we may ask you to forgo your doctor exam.  This is unlikely but may be necessary to protect you from being exposed to the doctor’s current patient and vice versa.
